I'm Kaylee and KayleeYogee is my yoga blog.
Here's my story of how yoga came into my life. Feel free to share your story with me in the comments.
Yoga was introduced to me by my mom when I was in high school. At that time she was going to yoga class 3-4 times a week and I, a bratty teenager, did not want to go sweat it out with my mom.
Nevertheless, the times I did go with my mom, I always left class with a smile on my face. Little did I know I had caught the yoga bug. . .
It wasn't until my early twenties, after a heart crushing break-up, did I really begin to take yoga seriously as a means to manage my stress.
In 2015, I traveled to India and spent 6 months living with a friend and her family. During my time there I also lived in an ashram [LIFE Mission - Lakulish Yoga University] for 45 days completing my first 200 hour yoga teacher training - the hardest physically and most eye-opening experience of my life.
When I came home from India I had a new found appreciation for yoga's vast and ancient history. There was so much that we in the West weren't emphasizing during yoga that I felt overwhelmed with the task of being a Yoga teacher. Thus, I continued my own personal yoga practice and taught yoga privately to friends and family for the next few years.
I wanted more though... So in 2018 I signed up for another 200 hour yoga teacher training course [Yoga for You - Shambhava School of Yoga], but instead in my hometown of Wichita, KS. Finishing that training in March of 2019 gave me the courage to jump. Creating this blog, KayleeYogee brand and offering my yoga teaching experience to the general public has been something I've been dreaming about for years.
I am now a Licensed and Yoga Alliance Certified 200 RYT [Registered Yoga Teacher].
